Old Glory Season Tickets On Sale November 4th

Dear Supporters of Old Glory DC,

It is here at last.  On Monday, November 4th, we will open general sale of season tickets for the 2020 season of Old Glory DC.  And what a season awaits!

On February 16, 2020, Old Glory will play the first Major League Rugby regular season match in DC.  The historic nature of this event will be underlined by the fact that we will host the two-time defending MLR champion Seattle Seawolves.

In fact, we have an entire season of exciting match-ups in-store, featuring home-and-away series with each MLR Eastern Conference team, including the fellow expansion teams New England Freejacks and Rugby ATL, Canada’s favorites the Toronto Arrows, MLR founding member NOLA Gold, and sure-to-be-rivals Rugby United New York (RUNY).  Visits from the Glendale Raptors and Utah Warriors will round out our schedule . . . until, of course, the playoffs begin. Do we dare to dream?

Coach Andrew Douglas has been working since before our 2019 Exhibition Season to assemble a roster of players that we are confident will prove worthy of the challenge.  We have re-signed a core of those players from our home region who won your hearts during 2019, such as Josh Brown, Ryan Burroughs, Jack Iscaro, and Michael Reid. Other 2019 favorites such as Vetekina Malafu and Will Vakalahi are scheduled to return as well, and regional college recruits Mike Dabulus and Jack McLean add an infusion of new young talent.  But we have enhanced this core with a number of professional-caliber signings from across the US and around the world – including 2019 MLR playoff and championship standout Api Naikatini; USA Eagle Jamason Fa’anana-Shultz; Canadian international Travis Larsen; international professional Dylan Taikato-Simpson; and many others – some of whom are at this moment competing at the Rugby World Cup in Japan, and who will be announced in the coming weeks.

We have also been working steadily to provide you with an even more enjoyable match-day experience.  We will continue to play our regular-season home games at Catholic University’s Cardinal Stadium, while a pair of January pre-season games will be hosted indoors at the St. James in Springfield VA, in recognition of the likely mid-winter weather.  At Catholic, the tailgate area, beer garden, and kids’ zone will all see major enhancements in 2020. Although we will continue to offer some tickets at the same 2019 price of $20 a seat (when bought in a full-season package) we will also introduce our first premium seating options, which will include options for optimal sightlines and even an “on top of the action” VIP rugby experience with all food and beverage included.

Don’t miss the chance to enjoy every match of this historic season!  Get your season tickets fast!

Cheers,

Paul Sheehy and Chris Dunlavey
