Old Glory DC is thrilled to announce eight home match day themes for the 2022 Major League Rugby season at Segra Field in Leesburg, VA. The season will kick off with Old Glory welcoming our Loudoun County neighbors to our homecoming on Friday, February 18, during “Light Up Loudoun” night, and each home match thereafter will embrace different elements of rugby community and culture.
MLR’s Rise of Rugby message states that the game of rugby isn’t for just anyone; rather, it’s for everyone. It’s an experience that captivates and forms connections well beyond the final whistle. Old Glory’s home opener will amplify the message that success in the sport is not measured in wins and losses but the growth of the game and our commitment to our communities.
Old Glory DC themes allow fans to partake in a 360° experience on match day and digitally, activating all Old Glory DC platforms, including our website, social media, the Road to Glory podcast, and more. Theme activations will also invite local performers, businesses, and community members to enhance the matchday with their participation. Additionally, fans can expect themed entertainment, game day elements, merch, food and beverage, and fanfare.

This season will also feature the return of the Kid’s Zone, with Old Glory’s drop kick challenge, target pass challenge, face painter, and supporter sign station.
Old Glory DC match days will offer the Northern Virginia, Maryland, DC, and traveling fans a day-long festival environment that cultivates the heart of rugby culture: community.
