Joe Rees is a Welsh rugby union prop forward. He began his professional career with Tonmawr RFC in the Welsh Premiership, showcasing early promise that earned him a call-up to the Ospreys, where he debuted in 2010 and being part of the squad that won the Rabo Direct Pro 12 in 2011-12. Joe represented Wales at the under-20 international level, competing in the 2010 Six Nations Under 20s Championship and IRB Junior World Championship.
In 2014 Joe signed with Worcester Warriors in the English RFU Championship, contributing to their “double”, winning the British & Irish cup and Championship. He played a roll in their 2015-16 Premiership season including becoming the first Warrior to score at Twickenham. He joined Rotherham Titans in 2016, continuing to build his reputation in England’s competitive second tier. His career then included stints with Welsh club Merthyr RFC and English Championship sides Chinnor and London Scottish, where he signed for the 2020–21 season becoming captain in 2022. As of 2024, Joe played for Hartpury RFC in the RFU Championship bringing experience and leadership to the squad.
