OLD GLORY DC

Frequently Asked Questions

From our move to George Mason Stadium to ticketing and game day details, you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions below.

Old Glory will play its home games for the 2026 MLR regular season at the George Mason Stadium at George Mason University, located at 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030.

The venue offers a full-sized, natural grass rugby pitch, including 4,500 bleacher seats (plus a variety of group seating and standing room spaces.)

Old Glory is committed to a long-term mission of growing the game of rugby in the DMV by delivering the best possible professional experience for our players, partners, and fans. That commitment requires us to listen, evolve, and continuously seek ways to improve.

While the pitch and stadium at the Maryland SoccerPlex served us well, we heard clear feedback from fans around accessibility, limited public transportation options, and the desire for pre- and post-match tailgating.

Ultimately, our growth depends on our fans showing up, and we know we must remove barriers to attendance. George Mason Stadium offers the most immediate opportunity to address these venue-related concerns and create a more accessible, fan-friendly matchday experience.

Old Glory remains committed to returning to the District of Columbia when we can find a financially suitable rugby pitch that meets our standards for player welfare and fan entertainment.

We have stated in the past and will state again: Old Glory belongs in Washington, DC, our namesake and the place where our team was born.

Through our history and continuing today, we have worked to identify opportunities to play in an appropriately-sized venue that properly presents the game of rugby within the District, or at least at a Metro-accessible location inside the Beltway.

The obvious catch is that such a venue does not exist today, considering factors such as the attendance we draw, the resulting economics of our sport, the facility standards set by MLR for field quality and broadcast visuals, and others.

We pledge that a return to the center of our region remains a core element of our mission and our business plan, that we are working to achieve it at the

soonest possible date, and that we will not rest in this effort until successful.

Old Glory will play at George Mason Stadium under a 1-year license agreement in 2026.

We have negotiated an option for 2027, based on evaluation following the 2026 regular season.
