Old Glory DC is excited to announce the return of JMU Alumni and NOVA RFC Veteran Mo Katz for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The hooker made his Major League rugby debut during the 2021 season on April 3rd when Old Glory DC faced Rugby ATL at Lupo Field in Marietta, GA. He went on to play one more match at home with Old Glory DC against San Diego during their 2021 campaign.
“I’m grateful to keep working with Old Glory to bring a championship to DC,” said Mo Katz. “With a number of critical players returning plus some new talent, we plan to raise our level of play from last season. It will be fun to get back with the boys and start competing. Can’t wait to see our fans under Friday night lights!”
“Mo brings a lot of energy and excitement to Old Glory and we’re excited to have him back for 2022,” said Head Coach Andrew Douglas. “Mo has had a tough run through injury over the last two seasons so it’ll be great to see him play a series of games. He is a dangerous open-field runner and has worked hard on his set-piece.
From Centerville, VA, Timothy “Mo” Katz started playing rugby as an undergraduate at James Madison University, where he helped lead his team to multiple Cardinal Conference Championships, a National 7’s Championship, and selection to the 2016 USAR Collegiate All-American side. Mo currently plays for local club NOVA RFC on their D1 side and has also represented the Capital Rugby Union Select Sides, Old Glory Capital Selects and Capital Selects, on multiple occasions.
