FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — (Washington, DC – January 20, 2020) – Old Glory DC, Washington DC’s first professional rugby team, has named The St. Gregory Hotel the official hotel partner for the team’s inaugural 2020 Major League Rugby (MLR) season.

As Old Glory’s official hotel partner, this luxury DuPont Circle hotel will host visiting opponents and provide special rates to ticket holders, making it the property of choice for out-of-town visiting MLR fans. The newly renovated boutique hotel features 156 highly-stylized guestrooms and suites.  The hotel features luxury amenities and services such as a state-of-the-art fitness center with Peloton bikes, a boxing bag and free weights, and a full-service restaurant and bar, St. Greg Kitchen & Bar.  The St. Gregory Hotel is located in close proximity to Old Glory offices, training facilities, embassies of Rugby loving nations, and an easy commute to Catholic University, where home games will be played.

“The St. Gregory Hotel is an excellent extension of the type of game atmosphere Old Glory offers, we are confident visiting teams and fans will appreciate it,” said Old Glory Commercial Officer David Potamianos. “We are fortunate to work with this outstanding property, as they have been a pleasure to work with.  We are excited to have them join an esteemed group of corporate partners like Cuisine Solutions, Leidos and Iron Vine among others.”

“We’re thrilled to be Old Glory’s exclusive hotel partner in this inaugural season and are excited to watch rugby’s prominence and interest grow in the US,” said Robert Clark, general manager of The St. Gregory Hotel. “We look forward to working with Old Glory on packages, promotions, and events throughout the year.”

“We feel so fortunate to have secured a relationship with yet another first-rate partner,” said Old Glory Chairman Chris Dunlavey.  “The St. Gregory has already hosted a Scottish international team for us as they were here preparing for the U20 Rugby World Cup.  That experience demonstrated that The St. Gregory facilities, service, management, and everything else added up to a world-class property.  From our MLR partners to their fans and our fans, we look forward to guests enjoying the opportunity to discover our hotel partner and downtown DC for themselves.”
