Old Glory DC is proud to announce the signing of Fijian lock Tevita Naqali

Originally from Nadroga, Fiji, Tevita Naqali will be joining the forward pack for the 2020 season.

Naqali has played for the Suva Provincial Club for the Suva Rugby Union, the oldest of the provincial unions in Fiji. In early 2019, Naqali traveled to Spain to play with Valladolid Rugby Association Club, a Spanish rugby club that competes in the División de Honor de Rugby competition, which is the highest level of Spanish club rugby. Most recently, the lock joined the Fijian Latui, a professional rugby team that plays in the 2019 Global Rapid Rugby Showcase Series. The series features a showcase series of six professional teams in the Asia-Pacific region. Naqali is currently in camp preparing for the playoffs in the 2019 National Rugby Championship.

On joining Old Glory, Naqali said, “I’m grateful and excited for the new opportunity to be part of the Old Glory Rugby Family throughout the 2019 season. I’m looking forward to giving my best every single day to achieve the clubs goals.”

Outside of rugby, Naqali graduated from Fiji National University, where he studied telecommunication and networking.

Fans will be able to see Tevita Naqali take the field during the 2020 home opener on February 16th. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date on Old Glory news, ticket sales, and events here.
