Old Glory is pleased to announce the re-signing of Jack Carroll to the DC squad for the 2022 Major League Rugby Season. During the 2021 MLR season, Jack appeared in six matches for 84 minutes of playing time, arrived at 49 rucks, accounted for ten successful tackles, and carried the ball over 33 meters.

“We’re really pleased with Jack’s progress in 2021,” said Head Coach Andrew Douglas. “It was his first time playing rugby since high school, and he progressed very well. Jack is a quick learner and very coachable, he’s very good around the field, and his set-piece grew during the season. After spending three months playing rugby in Ireland, I’m sure his game has gone to the next level, and we’re looking forward to watching him play in 2022.”

Hailing from Oakton, VA, Jack Carroll participated in both the varsity football and rugby programs between 2011 and 2015 at Gonzaga College High School. The dual-sport athlete excelled at both, being named to the USA National Football Team and USA Rugby’s All-American roster his senior year. Ultimately, Carroll laid down his rugby kit to play DI NCAA football for the University of New Hampshire on an athletic scholarship.

“I’m fired up to be returning to DC for 2022,” said Jack on returning to Old Glory. “The men have been working hard, and we are excited to give our amazing fans a great season.”
