FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Washington, DC (August 27, 2020) – Old Glory DC welcomes back Timothy “Mo” Katz, 26-year-old hooker and James Madison University graduate, to the OG squad.

Mo Katz joined Old Glory during the exhibition season campaign in May of 2019. A mobile hooker with a thirst for ball carrying, Katz’s impact during the exhibition matches earned him an invitation to the 2020 squad.

“It’s great to have an original exhibition season member back with us at Old Glory,” said Head Coach Andrew Douglas. “Mo has worked hard at his game, and if it hadn’t been for a pre-season injury, he would have already made his MLR debut. We are excited to see him make an impact on MLR.”

“I’m ecstatic to be part of the Old Glory team moving forward,” said Mo Katz. “As a group, we feel that we have unfinished business and loads of untapped potential. It’s an honor to continue to represent my hometown, and I’m looking forward to making my official OG debut on the pitch.”

Mo Katz started playing rugby at James Madison University, a member of the Chesapeake Collegiate Rugby Conference. During his time at JMU, he helped lead the team to multiple Conference Championships and a National 7’s Championship.  He was also selected to the 2016 USAR Collegiate All-American side.  Since graduating, Katz has played his club rugby for NOVA Rugby RFC.

Welcome back to OG, Mo Katz!
