Old Glory Supporters,

We have just been notified that the New England Freejacks will not be able to visit D.C. to play the scheduled pre-season game against Old Glory.  Having made a swift but unsuccessful effort to line up an alternative opponent, Old Glory is obliged to CANCEL our home game this Friday, March 5 at the St. James.

We have stated previously our commitment to do everything possible for Old Glory to play its games and share them in every way that is safe and practical with our supporters, sponsors, and the rugby lovers of greater Washington.  We remain steadfast in that commitment, despite the obstacles we face.  We hope you will agree with the feedback we have heard that last week’s Season Preview open training session and intrasquad scrimmage was an enjoyable introduction to the 2021 Old Glory team and, for those who were able to watch, a suitable replacement to the planned scrimmage vs the Naval Academy.  However, we feel that it would be an inadequate follow-up to provide our fans with a reprise or similar replacement for this coming Friday’s game and that it is more respectful of you to simply cancel the event and ensure the value of ticket purchases you may have made is realized in another way.

We appreciate your enthusiastic support of Old Glory, and we hope to see you at one of our regular season games!
