FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Washington, DC (September 24th, 2020) – Old Glory DC welcomes back tighthead prop Will Vakalahi to the Old Glory 2021 squad.

“I’m excited to go back to the DMV and finish what we started last year,” said Vakalahi. The tighthead prop played 160 minutes in five matches during the 2020 MLR season and ended the shortened season with 10 ball carries.

Will Vakalahi joined Old Glory DC during its exhibition run in May of 2019 and was invited by Andrew Douglas to join the team during its inaugural season earlier this year. A product of the storied Penn High School program in Mishawaka, Indiana, Vakalahi was noticed by the OG recruiting squad during the 2019 USA Rugby Under 20 camp, a preparation camp ahead of the U20 Trophy Qualifier series this June and lead by Head Coach Scott Bracken. Additionally, Vakalahi’s family has a rugby-rich history, with both he and his two brothers earning scholarships to Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Welcome back, Will Vakalahi!
