With this program, players can continue their rugby journey beyond high school. The Young Glory program helps players improve, from U-23 academies all the way to the pros.

This program operates during the winter months, providing college students an opportunity to train under Old Glory coaches and alongside Old Glory professional players when their school teams are not competing. Our collaborations with local universities (like the University of Mary Washington and Mount St. Mary’s University) and expanding partnerships with colleges in the DMV area are creating more competitive play opportunities.

This program and accompanying partnerships has the ultimate goal of signing players to the Old Glory squad. We have already signed two players to Old Glory’s First XV team. While the goal is to graduate U-23 academy players onto the Old Glory DC roster, we also collaborate with the Washington Irish to offer players additional development and competitive opportunities.

What to Expect

4 Weeks of Action during the winter season.
1 Team Training per Week led by Old Glory-certified coaches.
3-4 Competitive Matches against representative teams, providing a challenging and rewarding environment.

Elite Player Pathway

This exclusive, invitation-only program is designed for aspiring professional rugby players. The initiative recognizes the most talented Senior Academy athletes by offering them a Training Contract with Old Glory DC.

Select players train full-time along Old Glory’s professional squad, gaining invaluable experience and exposure to the professional game. The Elite Player Pathway is a vital bridge between Academy Rugby and Major League Rugby (MLR). Players get a chance to compete for a coveted MLR contract and advance their rugby careers to the highest level.
