Originally from Mt. Maunganui, New Zealand, Jason Robertson will be joining the Old Glory backline during the 2020 season.  The fly-half attended university in Hamilton, NZ and played on the University of Waikato Rugby Club.  Robertson made his Waikato Rugby Union debut in 2016 and earned three appearances off the bench in Mitre 10 Cup competition.  In 2017, Robertson headed north to join Tokyo Gas, a team in the Japan Rugby Football Union’s Top East League, in hopes to start his career in Super Rugby.  Most recently, Robertson joined the Bay of Plenty Squad for the 2019 Mitre 10 Cup Season, helping Bay of Plenty to claim the championship on October 25th.  As a result, the team will be promoted to the Premiership Division in 2020.

On joining Old Glory, Robertson said, “I’m excited to be joining Old Glory in DC as the team enters its first year in the MLR and can’t wait for a new experience in the states.”

Robertson marks the fourth Old Glory player announced to hail from New Zealand.  Others include Dylan Taikato-Simpson, Gordon Fullerton, and Danny Tusitala.
