Raised in Sydney, Australia, Jake Turnbull comes to Washington, DC after two seasons with MLR’s Houston Sabercats as a loose-head prop. While with the Sabercats, Turnbull served as a youth development coach in their player pathway programs and regularly started for the professional side. Before joining MLR, Turnbull played for the Denver Stampede in the now-defunct PRO Rugby. The Stampede were the inaugural champions of the PRO Rugby in 2016.
Before playing professionally, the prop played with the Glendale Merlins at Infinity Park. With Turnbull on the squad, the Glendale Men’s Club was the 2015 Pacific Rugby Premiership Champions, defeating San Francisco Golden Gate 25-11 in the championship match. At the national level, the prop played with the USA Selects, the secondary national rugby team for the United States, and boasts two caps.
