Old Glory DC is pleased to announce the return of Doug Fraser to DC for the 2022 MLR season. In 2021, Doug played in eight matches for nearly 600 minutes of playing time, placed down two tries, carried for 431 meters of 43 ball carries, and accounted for 17 tackles breaks.

“I’m incredibly excited to be returning to the capital for another season,” said Fraser on returning to Old Glory for a third season. “Having been here since the beginning, I have come to love the DMV and everything it has to offer. I can’t wait to get back to work with Old Glory. I’m excited to be back at Segra field playing in front of the MLR’s best fans. Up The Flags!”

“Doug’s one of the first players I signed into the professional arm of Old Glory,” said Head Coach Andrew Douglas on Doug Fraser’s return to the squad. “It’s great to have him come back for a 3rd year with us. His versatility and experience are invaluable for Old Glory. More importantly, he’s one of life’s good men. He cares about the club, the fans, and his fellow teammates. From a personal coaching note, it’s great to have players like him back on the squad.”

Hailing from Ladysmith, British Columbia, Fraser attended the University of Victoria from 2010 to 2015. The back played on the university rugby team and won two national championships with the squad. A standout collegiate athlete, Fraser was awarded the Canadian University 7s Finals MVP and was named to the Canadian University 7s Dream team in 2015.

After graduating, Fraser played with Castaway Wanderers, a Canadian rugby club based in Oak Bay, British Columbia, and BC Bears, a men’s select side team that represents British Columbia. While with the Bears, Fraser was identified as a high-level prospect and was invited to join the national Canadian XVs team. The back made his international debut against Brazil during the Americas Rugby Championship on February 17, 2018.
