Old Glory DC is pleased to welcome back Jack Iscaro for the 2022 Major League Rugby season! The front row was a workhorse on the pitch in 2021, playing in 14 matches for 431 minutes. He arrived at 147 rucks, had 45 successful tackles, and carried into contact 35 times with 168 total ball carry meters.

“I’m incredibly excited to be coming back to Old Glory next season. Washington, DC is my home and it’s a dream come true to be playing professional rugby so close to my family and friends. I can’t wait to get back to playing in front of the fans and being with the team,” Iscaro remarked on being back with Old Glory in the District for the 2022 season.

“Jack made amazing growth last season,” said Old Glory Head Coach Andrew Douglas. “His scrummaging and play grew immensely over the year to the point where he was starting at the end of the season. As a local rugby product, it’s great to see these players being role models to younger players in the region. With the confidence Jack got in 2021, I’m sure he’s in line for a big season in 2022.”

Jack Iscaro graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in the Spring of 2019 and immediately joined Old Glory DC for the exhibition season at Catholic University.  Iscaro played in two exhibition matches, in which Old Glory DC claimed two victories over select-side opponents, the USA Rugby South Panthers and the Ontario Blues. Catching the attention of visiting Scottish Rugby officials, Iscaro accepted an invitation to join the Glasgow Warriors’ pre-season training as they prepared for their fall 2019/20 Guinness PRO14 campaign, returning to Washington in time to begin MLR training with Old Glory. This assignment was an early example of the advantages of Old Glory partnering with one of its investors, the Scottish Rugby Union, owner of the Warriors as well as Scotland’s other professional team, Edinburgh Rugby.

Jack grew up in the greater DC area and played his youth rugby with the Maryland Exiles program, as well as high school rugby with Gonzaga College High School from 2011-2015. He then moved on to the University of California – Berkeley from 2015- 2019, where he helped to earn two national rugby championships before graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography.
